John A.Hendry, D.D.S.

  •  - Dr John Hendry graduated from Spring Hill College in Mobile Alabama before entering Dental School.

  •  - Dr. Hendry received his Doctor of Dental Surgery from Louisiana State University School of Dentistry in 1977.

  •  - He completed his Pediatric Dentistry at The Louisiana State University School of Dentistry in New Orleans in 1979.

  •  - In 1980, Dr. Hendry located in Lafayette (The home town of his wife, Dr. Cheryl Woodson).

  •  - In 1986, he was awarded Diplomate Status by The American Board of Pediatric Dentistry and designated as Fellow by The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (1984) and The Academy of Dentistry for person with disabilities(1997).

  •  - In 1988 Dr. Hendry was named "National Spokesperson" for The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. A position he still holds.

  •  - Among Dental positions, Dr. Hendry has served as president of The American Academy of Persons with Disabilities. He has also served as Founding Board Member and Chairman of The Federation of Special Care Organizations in Dentistry.

  •  - Dr. Hendry has served as president of The Louisiana Academy of Pediatric Dentistry.

  •  - He has been honored as Professional of the Year by The Louisiana Association of Retarded Citizens.

  •  - Civically, Dr. Hendry has served on The Board of Directors of 232-Help, Family Tree, American Lung Association, The Lafayette Community Health Care Clinic, Child Protection Agency, Oakbourne Country Club, City Club of Lafayette and Home Bank.

  •  - Dr. Hendry has served as president of The Louisiana Open Inc. since 1994 - 2005. In 2002 he also became the Chairman of the Board.

  •  - He serves as Chairman of "Ron Guidry and Friends" Golf Tournament for Special Olympics and MDA.

  •  - He is Chairman of "The Acadiana Cup" International Ryder Cup Golf Tournament between Lafayette and its International sister cities. 

  •  - He serves on The USGA National Junior Amateur Championship Committee and The Board of Directors of The Louisiana Golf Association.

  •  - He serves on The Community Advisory Board to The Junior League of Lafayette.

  •  - In 2006, Dr. Hendry was elected to The International College of Dentist.
